Professional Development Training
The professional development that we offer is highly interactive. For each concept taught, we abide by the following methodology: We give an introduction to the strategy, we model it with a participant, and then the participants practice the strategy with their peers. At different points in the training, video clips of students or actual movie clips may be used for analysis. Teachers will be engaged at every level, critiquing themselves at every stage of their development.
Description
Participants will learn how to adapt proven business coaching strategies and apply them for classroom use. These strategies help to ensure harmonious group work, improve organizational skills, and resolve conflicts among students. Discover techniques that promote effective group problem solving and listening skills, while effectively encouraging responsibility and choice. This workshop offers strategies to fire up students’ imaginations and gets them engaged, inspired, and motivated for higher achievement.
Professional Development can be offered at any level:
On-Going Training
We can offer weekly, on-going training for individual or small groups. By focusing on new or at-risk teachers, we can plan, model, observe, and assess classroom practices.
Workshop
An overview of TACC can be presented at local, regional, or state conferences for approximately 1 to 2 hours. We can also offer full day training on a pre-conference day.
Introductory One-Day Training
Training can be offered to all members of a staff, regardless of the grade level or the subject areas they teach. Beginner’s level coaching techniques and teaching strategies found in the Components of Educational Coaching section are offered. Training consists of a six hour day, which includes a 45 minute break for lunch. We recommend that schools offer lunch to their staff within the building on the day of the training, allowing full utilization of the time allotted for the day’s activities.
Two Day or More Training Sessions
Not only are we available for the one whole-day session at a school or conference location, but also for multiple day seminars, concentrating on more in-depth work. Intermediate level coaching techniques and teaching strategies found in the Components of Educational Coaching section are offered.
Summer Sessions
We are available for June or July training sessions. For summer training, two-day to five-day sessions are available. Beginner’s level, intermediate, and more advanced coaching techniques and teaching strategies found in the Components of Educational Coaching section are offered.
Fees
Please call for pricing. Fees are dependent on the size of the staff and location. Training fees are separate from transportation and hotel accommodations.
